BLOGS
A handful of posts and early freestyle writings from my time in America formulated my book: World Piss' The Spore of the Woids. Last year in (2009) this project morphed into SHANNANIGUMS WAVE. Now available at Lulu, and partly at wordspore.blogspot.
While living in New Orleans I started a poem called TRANE YOURSELF: a homage to John Coltrane, Jazz ployrhythms and African American culture. A theme in my early poems crafted in America, while living in New Orleans, New York, and the Bay Are surrounded by awe inspiring music and art.

I feel honoured to collaborate on a blog with good friends and longtime memebers of the maybelogic academy. The IMPERFECT INDEX of ONLYMAYBE acts like a prototype model for this post here. MD is for MCLUHAN'S DREAM: A short story
In the process of my study into the tale of the tribe I have began creating fictional episodes that link I fly agaric with some of the corresponding themes and characters.

MCLEAR'S DREAM
Mclear’s father drinks some tea from a chalice, and then climbs a ladder set against a house to fetch down a bright green-toad that's stuck up high on the roof, its the pet toad of his cousin, and, while on his way down he slips on a snake masquerading as a step of a ladder, falls, and crushes his head and crushes the toad in the process. Brains, toad slime, jewels merge together at the foot of the ladder and flies appear.
Mclear’s cousin turns into Alice through the looking glass, and shrinks down to the size of a small rodent, she begins munching on Lotus petals that have suddenly sprung up around Mclear's father/mothers corpse. A fly swoons across the body looking for an entry point, the corpse is wearing a white gown and has formed female breasts.
A bomb comes whistling out of the sky, changing into a figure resembling Cuchulain, a giant with twelve arms, each holding an object: A boomerang, a Robert Johnson 78’ disk, a golden jewel encrusted chalice, a smoking pipe styled into the shape of a toad, a totem pole, a telephone receiver/speaker, a small printing press, calendar, Umbrella, TV set and a Video-Camera. The smoking pipe was in the giants mouth and clouds of smoke drifted up and up forming bigger clouds, nebulous, ten miles high or more.
One cloud takes the form of a giant mushroom and descends back to the scene of the accident pitching itself next to the androgynous corpse. The mushroom then morphs again into a small Santa Claus doll that proceeds to administer coca-cola to the corpse, pouring it up the nostrils and letting it fizz all over the face, the body begins to shake.
[A sudden disturbance in the dream sequence, the dreamer has set his alarm-clock one hour too early this morning, but falls back into the tale.]
Mclear’s father/mother corpse, his cousin and himself were now up and bouncing away from the house, jumping on pogo sticks away from where the toad-corpse ooze had released a green fog of flies into the air that set everybody in the village laughing uncontrollably.
Arriving in a wooded area they eventually stop and slump down onto the ground leaning against a birch tree. Suddenly a wheel rolls out into the clearing in front of them, the wheel has a golden apple lodged inside its hollow. Then, as Mclear recalls his dream, ‘we all eat a small piece of the bright green apple and sit back down under the tree again.
In a flash the dreamer has morphed into a Mushroom, stood right in the spot where Mclear once sat. His Father/mother corpse had transformed into a fruit fly and his cousin Mary changed from the image of his grandmother to a toad, who also sits right where she once sat in the wooded clearing.
At this point Mclear describes the sense of an eternity passing, then a jumping muddle of perceptions between the three shape-shifters, triangulated in their sitting positions. The mushroom had only single sight via a tiny periscope inside a white wart, but it released a constant humming sound like a tribal drum in his head when it looked at the fly and the toad looking at back at him.
Suddenly Mclear experienced total ESP with the others, plus he felt a presence coming from the trees and the foliage and the leaves; a low chatter beneath the canopy, they sat motionless, in awe of the infinite stars above them, together in a resonant-field of connection.
In a flash, the fly lands on the mushroom, licks it, and flies off in the direct of the toad, who swiftly snatches the drunken fly out of the air, and swallows it in one gulp. This sequence is seen in slow motion with the silhouette of the action projected by the moonlight.
Cuchulain returns and lands in front of the Toad with a drawn sword and brutally slices it in two. Emeralds and Lapis Lazuli fall-out from the toads head. The fly emerges again from the toads head, shakes, buzzes, flinches a little, staggers up to gather itself and then flies off only a few feet, landing this time on a lotus flower floating upon the pond. The fly is swallowed again by a huge salmon fish, which then in turn is quickly fished out by Cuchulain's fishing rod and set free once more. Cuchulain discovers a golden ring inside the salmon that fits him perfectly.
Ants march into the clearing and gather up the toad-parts mixed with jewels, transporting them back to their nest where together with a mouldy old beetle and a giant snake they rebuild the toad with spittle, venom and fungus.
The toad leaps out of the nest back to the clearing where he spits on the mushroom’s periscopic wart, which transforms the whole mushroom into a massive geodesic object, bejewelled with emerald glow, crystallized and sparkling like Kryptonite.
Cuchulain returned from a gap in a nearby tree trunk, plucked the mushroom from the soil and placed it in his red sack and sprang into the air again with a salmon leap all the way back to the village, where he divided the crystalized green between all the towns people. Everyone got a piece and said a funny prayer, hours later the whole village danced in celebration dressed to look like toads, fly's, snakes and mushrooms.

FINNEGANS WAKE PAGE 10 AND THE NEW HOLOGRAMMIC DECADE
The identity of the opposites, a central theme of Taoist thought, is indicated early in Finnegans Wake. The very first appearance of Shem and Shaun is as "the Hindoo, Shimar Shin," (p.10) a single figure. Through the rest of the book they are split into two figures, but they are constantly changing roles and merging into each other (for instance, in the "Geometry Lesson" chapter, where the Shem-type notes, left side of the page, leap suddenly to the right side, and the Shaun-type notes leap from right to left.) Again, in the Mercius and Justius dispute, Shem and Shaun are picked up at the end and carried off together by ALP. "Sonnies had a scrap," she says with feminine equanimity.
The two philosophers most frequently mentioned in the Wake, Nicholas of Cusa and Bruno of Nola, taught a dialectic of resolution of opposites. Joseph Needham in his monumental Science and Civilization in China, repeatedly mentions both Bruno and Nicholas as the only two Occidental philosophers before Liebnitz to have a basically Taoist outlook. --DR. James Joyce and victims: reading the logic of exclusion

The mirror and the killer-queen: otherness in literary language

Due to finishing off my Novel that includes the members of RAW’s tale of the tribe scenario Universe, I can’t help but notice that many ideas surrounding the 2012 phenomena – geological phenomena, meteorite strikes, time and calendars, Prophecy, precognition and paranormal phenomena, historicism, cosmology, anthropology and strange alternative ideas to rock the mainstream opinion and poke at the standard model – are treated in a most scientific and rational but far from – dry – manner by RAW. And that’s not news, but I wanted to mention Giambattista Vico in particular – and by default Joyce – due to their correspondence with the principles of world ages – shifting ages – cyclical ages. RATIONAL SCALE FOR HUMAN CONSCIOUSNESS?

So called "Rational scale to access the harm of (some) drugs"
Dr. John Lilly worked on creating a rational-scale to help good scientific research into drug induced states of consciousness, and other means of attaining altered-states of consciousness. Dr. Timothy Leary also worked his entire life to try to establish a RATIONAL-SCALE to help research into the last frontier of inner-space, consciousness. His results include the 8 Dimensional Model of consciousness, co-created and refined with Dr. Robert Anton Wilson.
Although the following graph-scale (tool) for scientific study into the harm of drugs and the potential for misuse, its my feeling that maybe even David Nutt - the UK's disgraced independent drug researcher - seems stale, when compared with the likes of Lilly, Wilson and Leary who, I think, are the big three tenors of scientific research and experimental feedback upon altered states, and the impact on individuals and society of neurological relativism.

Drug misuse and abuse are major health problems. Harmful drugs are regulated according to classification systems that purport to relate to the harms and risks of each drug. We developed and explored the feasibility of the use of a nine-category matrix of harm, with an expert delphic procedure, to assess the harms of a range of illicit drugs in an evidence-based fashion. We also included five legal drugs of misuse (alcohol, khat, solvents, alkyl nitrites, and tobacco) and one that has since been classified (ketamine) for reference. The process proved practicable, and yielded roughly similar scores and rankings of drug harm when used by two separate groups of experts. The ranking of drugs produced by our assessment of harm differed from those used by current regulatory systems. "A new species of rust fungus, Maravalia perae on Pera sp. (Euphorbiaceae), from Brazil is proposed. Spermogonia are type 5 and aeciospores and urediniospores are asymetrically obovoid to ellipsoid, with a concave side and 3(–4) equatorial germ pores. Teliospore walls are 2–5 µm thick at apex around the apical germ pore. This set of characters differentiates M. perae from other species of Maravalia. Hi folks, I’m currently collaborating with a small but growing group of web critters led by Mark Pesce, but he's not the leader really, we are a unique decentralized community, which will lead, good willing to the manifestation of a book! scheduled for completion in 2010 and loosly based around the emerging hyperintelligence and 'hyperpeople' as defined by Mark Pesce and approximated as sharing.
As sharing is the core of – share this course & share this book – the group have recently alerted me by example to a slight change in direction to just posting at the blog, that has encouraged me here to start sharing some of our work so far, and spreading the new sharing meme, now, in early December 2009.
My position so far, inspired by the cooking and ingredients analogy with the group-course blog space, is like that of a particular individual ingredient scattered around the kitchen area, or up on a shelf somewhere waiting to be combined, or grated a little, boiled, skinned, fried, charbroiled, roasted, toasted and finally with a bit of luck, served-up with a huge healthy spread of exotic delicacies and shared wisdom, enough to feed all humanity.
I’ve been sharing my vision of a new investigation into the historical figures that I think have influenced sharing and the technology of sharing that produced great contributions to all-around-the-world-Humanity, and as a nod to the MLA and the smart tribe of critters that createdits own collective hyper-intelligence, if you like. I choose to focus on the twelve individuals introduced to us by Dr. Robert Anton Wilson, as the characters who helped shape the - decentralized sharing age -, or simply the 21st century. We can learn from the past efforts to share, and from them create a new historical framework of sharing, one reaching 420 years back to Giordano Bruno and pulling us right up to Marshall McLuhan.
These characters present a great challenge to anybody who has read one or two books or articles by them, no doubt, BOB aspired to keep us busy for the next 50 years with the fields of research and study he wet our mind-lips with. These ideas are pretty complex ideas and come from complex individuals of explicit genius, difficult to approach and shrouded in mystery, this maybe especially true to somebody who has relatively little experience in academic circles, like myself, where much of the solid foundations of this new historical - hyperintelligent tribe – lie, please don't mistake my intellectual pursuits of 'The Tale of the Tribe' as representative of what I think - Share this book - should be about. Not at all. I view this angle of approach as more concerned with - share this course - or the creation of a hyperintelligence, unbounded and access-able and - sharable - by anyone who can access the WWW.
With the power of Internet and the rise of hypersharing culture (hyperdistribution, hyperconnectivity, hyperbolic Geometry) and with the aid of new tools, many minds can congregate together and work quickly, efficiently and humanely, and my ego-drive hope is that others may soon join us in this collective adventure of sharing - sharing - and maybe a few critters will find enough time to follow my historical investigation into the people and ideas that helped to shape intelligent internet and create another alternative guide to sharing - free as the air you breath, and for all-around-the-world-humanity, or as close to the model correlated by Dr. Wilson, a life-long intellectual pursuit but one which I hope will add some spice and sugar to some of the more practical data due to be shared on the course and eventually in the book.

As was noted earlier, this practice helps to establish the poet’s authority as a trustworthy historian, and serves to deflect our tendency to treat his discourse as a purely subjective creation. But Walter Benjamin saw another and more subtle purpose in this technique, one I think Ezra Pound, Williams Carlos Williams, Charles Olson and also instinctively utilized. In Benjamin’s eye’s, the judicious use of quotations offers one of the most effective means of overcoming the historiography of pure power and political dominance. Composer, bandleader, pianist, poet and philosopher, Sun Ra is one of the most colourful and enduring of musical legacies, transcending time, place and cultural genres.
From the mid 1950s until his death in 1993, Sun Ra led "The Arkestra", an ensemble with an ever-changing line-up and name which sometimes numbered as many as thirty musicians living and playing together under the despotic tutelage of Sun Ra himself. Their music touched upon the entire history of jazz, from ragtime to swing, bebop to free jazz,while the band also pioneered the use of new forms, including electronic music, space music and free improvisation. But Sun Ra’s legendary status was earned as much for his eccentricities as for his unique artistic vision. Claiming to be from Saturn, he developed and propagated a mystifying sci-fi mythology which he weaved into both the music and Dadaist performances of The Arkestra (performances which inspired artists as diverse as George Clinton and MC5). His ideas are still the cause of much debate and controversy, the poetry and prose Sun Ra left behind only deepening the ambiguities around his work and ideas.
This book collects together for the first time interviews with Sun Ra, the people that knew him, and his contemporaries, alongside illuminating essays and conversational pieces regarding his prolific musical output, mystique, philosophy, fans and much more.

EDITOR BIO: In 1969, the poet-provocateur, MC5 manager and White Panther John Sinclair found himself the victim of that decade’s draconian American drug laws, and facing a twenty-year jail sentence for the possession of two joints. The counterculture Sinclair helped create came to his rescue, however, when John Lennon, Stevie Wonder, Phil Ochs and others performed at a successful benefit gig to petition for his release. Since that epochal moment, Sinclair (whom Ben Edmonds calls the “hardest working poet in showbiz”) has travelled the globe with his beat verses and inimitable growl, performing with some of the world’s finest musicians. He interviewed Sun Ra in 1966.
